Condolences

Martyred Intellectuals Day is observed on 14 December in Bangladesh to commemorate those intellectuals who were killed by Pakistani forces and their collaborators during the 1971 Liberation War. All European Bangladesh Association (AEBA) pays tributes to our Martyred Intellectuals.

Adiba, a Bangladeshi little girl falls from a balcony in the historic centre of Italian port city Genoa, dead on the spot on 4th December 2019. She would open a window by herself and fall. We pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul and convey sympathy to her bereaved family members.

20th November 2019 is the 6th death anniversary of Shahidul Alam Manik, who was the founding Joint Secretary General of All European Bangladesh Association (AEBA). He was one of the key organizers of the 1st AEBA Grand Convention which was held in Athens, Greece on 1st and 2nd December 2012. Born in 1959 in Bangladesh he had been permanently living in Paris since 1986. The reputed community personality of Europe, Shahidul Alam Manik was recognized as ‘Paris Friend’ to the thousands of Bangladeshis in France. He departed to the ‘land of no return’ on 20th November 2013 with a cardiovascular attack, before his lovely organization AEBA reached at the age of 1 year. He was the ‘Icon of Leadership’ for the Bangladesh community living in any country of Europe.

Former Architect of Paris Municipality Dr. Abu Jamal passed away on 18th November 2019 at a hospital in Paris. He had been living since 1980 in France. He obtained his PhD degree from the Sorbonne University in Paris. Dr. Jamal was 63. We pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul and convey sympathy to his bereaved family members.

With deep sorrow to share the news of the sad demise of AEBA Executive Committee (EC) Member Mr. Moniruzzaman Liton who passed away on 12th August 2019 at the Dhaka Medical College Burn Unit in Bangladesh. Air conditioner blast caused of fire that critically injured him and his family members in an apartment building at Kathalbagan in Dhaka on 5th August 2019. We pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul and convey sympathy to his bereaved family members.

All European Bangladesh Association (AEBA) observes 15th August the National Mourning Day with due respect, marking the 43rd anniversary of the martyrdom of ‘Father of the Nation’ Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Legendary journalist Golam Sarwar, editor of Bangla daily Samakal, passed away on 13th August 2018 at a hospital in Singapore. He was 75. We pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul and convey sympathy to his bereaved family members.

Remembering Lutfor Rahman Khan, the Founding President of Bangladesh Association Italy. The 9th death anniversary of the ‘Pioneer’, observes on 30th of July 2018. Legend community leader passed away in Rome, Italy on 30th of July of 2009. We pray for the eternal peace of his departed soul.

Remembering AEBA Awardee Shahidul Haque Mama. The 1st death anniversary of chief of the ‘Mama Guerilla Bahini’ during the Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971, observes on 30th of June 2018. Legend Freedom Fighter Shahidul Haque Mama passed away in Doha, Qatar on 30th of June of 2017. We pray for the eternal peace of his departed soul.

United Nations should declare the day 25th March as the World Genocide Day. The Pakistan Army swooped on unarmed Bengalis on the night of 25th March 1971 in a brutal bid to crush their struggle for freedom. Codenamed ‘Operation Searchlight’, it carried out genocide in the first hours of that night in Dhaka.

25 March is the Genocide Day in Bangladesh, marking the start of atrocities unleashed by the Pakistani occupation forces on the people of then-East Pakistan on the date in 1971. Paying tribute to our Martyrs !

Bangladesh Ambassador to Brazil and former foreign secretary Mohamed Mijarul Quayes has passed away. He breathed his last at a hospital in Brasilia around 9pm local time on Friday 10th March 2017.
